Fortune Favours The Brave
“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.”
The time to take the leap of faith is drawing nearer, that moment when I push off from the known island into the undiscovered ocean. It’s more than a little scary, to not be able to see the next shore you’re going to land on.
I know it’s there
I’ve been told it’s there
I hope it’s there
But I can’t see it yet
I tell myself it’s an adventure. I can’t stay here, is the truth of it. This island is inhospitable, unlivable, I have to leave. I know, with everything I have, that I am doing the right thing.
It doesn’t matter that I can’t stay here. I don’t want to stay here.
I want to move on
I want to see again that there is beauty in the world
I want to remember that the world has colour in it
I want to breathe deep and taste freshness
I want everything that is on the next island. I want what’s next. I want nothing here.
